The article "Elaine Welteroth, Teen Vogue's Refashionista" was an educational about the evolving times of the magazine Teen Vogue. The author starts out with explaining how she was going to have a meeting with Welteroth at a fashion show and then goes into the background on her. Welteroth is the chief editor of Vogue Magazine and is only the second black woman who has ever been in this position. The author discusses the evolving of the magazine, how they are having different girls represent the magazine along with new topics of discussion. She relates it to the fact how when she would read teen magazines she could never relate to the girls and the topics of them but now that someone, Welteroth, also felt the same way is now making a change to include other groups of people. I think that the purpose of this text was to bring attention to the fact of how much the magazine has changed due to this one woman and her experiences with not seeing advertisements using someone that she can relate to. I also think this text will also generate more attention to other editors for magazines in the way they will be rethinking how much diversity they are using now to how much they really should be using. The most important message that the author was trying to convey was the importance of diversity in advertising and the fact that one woman in a position is using all her power to expand that.
